It's easy enough for you to understand, I'm sure. You leave everyone the fuck alone and take your bloodlust out on me. Fighting, fucking, whatever, so long as you don't kill me. The latter option only opens up when Jeritza wants it to though.

Well why don't you use your brain for half a fucking second and consider your options. I don't want to hurt Jeritza but I will kill you if you hurt anyone else. He'd probably forgive me for it, too.

The alternative is you hurt me, get it out, and leave everyone else out of it. No authorities, no retaliation. And you know damn well I won't be easy.

[His voice is biting as he calls her bluff. He feels cornered by this awful woman. He is not going to stop killing.]

Hm.

[He has to think about that for a moment. That means all of his victims thus far have come back to life and walk the city. Could seek revenge or report him. Well, good. It isn't like anyone can stop him, if they can't kill him, unless they lock him up. Revenge just invites more violence, which is always fine by him.]

Good. You do terribly annoy me when you try so hard to play hero.

[Really, what annoys him is that she's beaten him.]

"Sweet." [He laughs again.] I think you mean pathetic. As are you, for liking that poor excuse for a human.

Oh? Offering yourself up already?

[In response to her voice, from the start of the call, Jeritza has been lingering in his consciousness, but surprisingly hasn't tried too hard to get out in front. Pathetic, like he said.]

Come, then. Perhaps I'll let you talk to him, if you satisfy me.

[He sends the address of a place in a shady part of District 6. Many of the houses on the street are run-down or empty, and the people who are living here obviously aren't the kind to stop for a friendly chat with. The house he leads her to is two stories, where once a family might have lived, now partially boarded up and clearly abandoned. Death Knight waits for her within, preparing his tools.]

Nina arrived shortly after the location was given, not even bothering to knock as she entered the dilapidated home. She did brace herself for an attack though- made sure to be on the defensive if the knight decided to start as soon as she got there.

"I'm here." She announced after a moment, slamming the door shut behind her for emphasis.

He hears her come in, but doesn't move from where he's setting up in the kitchen. There's a chair in the middle of the space. There's no electricity in this house, but daylight streams in from a window above the sink.

"Oh, good, my babysitter has arrived. I was starting to think I might have to put myself in time out, without you here to do it for me."

He speaks loudly enough for her to hear, but more casually than she's heard him speak before, as he continues his tasks.

Too casual, really. She didn't like it.

Nina did not hesitate to continue inward though, moving to the kitchen to observe the potential horror show that she was willingly walking into. This was stupid, she knew, but this beast needed to be tamed and she did not know another way. Talking didn't help, and just letting him run rampant wasn't an option. People would get hurt. Jeritza would get hurt - punished, killed, all manner of things, just because he had to share a body with the fucking Knight.

If she had to be tortured for everyone else to be safe from him, so fucking be it.

"Shut up."

"Good rebuttal. So very witty," he mutters. He's not in the worst mood, which is probably not a good sign, as Nina already suspects. If Death Knight is happy, it's because someone else isn't.

"If you were serious about not putting up a fight, then sit in that chair. If you struggle, I'll have to tie you."

Nina did not deign to reply and simply sat herself down in the chair. She should have figured it would be... theatrical. Methodical, even, and not the wild and unpredictable encounter they had before.

She hated him. Hated that she hated him because she saw Jeritza every time even with the subtle changes that marked the Death Knight. If she could rip them apart she would without hesitation.

To his surprise, she obeys without comment. Where went that prideful little cunt who challenged him so aggressively in the alleyway, in the woods?

He approaches her, flipping a sharp dagger in his hand, looks over her.

She's attractive. How did that wet blanket Jeritza get her to like him so much? Enough to offer her body up to torture?

He trails the tip of the knife along her jaw, beneath her chin, and tilts it up toward himself.

"Strange girl. You perplex me."

A dagger. Truly a classic to start with, she supposed.

There is no lacking pride in Nina Ironfist, which is why she looked at him as if he was the bug beneath her feet despite it being the exact opposite in that moment. If he had half a brain, he'd know why she was willing to suffer this for Jeritza - because he did not deserve to suffer for his alter's behavior. He deserved to be able to live without worrying he might wake up, bloodied and on the run. If her body was meant to be the sacrifice to achieve it...

So fucking be it.

"Must be easy to do that, because I'm a pretty simple woman."

The Death Knight can't fathom such empathies. That's what makes him strong, that's what makes him monstrous. He can't even imagine how Jeritza or Nina feel, nor could he possibly care less, despite both of them having the ability to alter things in his life.

But he's not completely stupid. The fact that Nina keeps coming back despite getting hurt again and again means that she must really care about Jeritza. While he can't fathom why, he's more than happy to take advantage of it.

"Fortunately, I don't need to understand you to hurt you. Today, I will take you down a peg. You are infuriatingly arrogant, and if I cannot break you, then I will make you pay for what you've done to me, how you've tried to limit and control me. I do not answer to haughty whores like you."

Rage slowly seeps into his voice until he's spitting his words through gritted teeth.

Nina, like the truly unhinged woman she was, smirked. She had gotten under his skin so badly, hadn't she? Really wedged herself in there and refused to let go - and gods, this was going to hurt but it felt so good knowing that he hated her just as much as she hated him.

"Get on with it already."

She has gotten deep, deep under his skin. He does hate her with a burning rage. She's bested him, humiliated him, and now has the gall to smirk in his face. His pride is very threatened by her, and he needs to assert his dominance, get his revenge.

Without another word, he moves swiftly behind her chair, grabs her wrist, and bends her right arm in the wrong direction until it breaks. It's easy; he's strong and she's built like a toothpick. A sickening snap cracks through the air, and he grins.
